Asbjorn Vavik, Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Vavik began his career in the early 1970's working offshore in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. During his 30 plus years in the drilling business, Mr. Vavik has contributed to the construction of several offshore drilling rigs. He has also owned and operated a land drilling company for 12 years.
Tom Jebsen, Senior Vice President. Mr. Jebsen previously worked 9 years with Frontline and the John Fredriksen Group. Before his time with Frontline Mr. Jebsen worked for Tschudi & Eitzen and Dyno.
Geir Magne Karlsen, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Karlsen previously served as CFO of Golden Ocean Management AS, where he was employed from 2006. Before that he worked for Frontline Ltd. from 2000. Mr Karlsen is a Norwegian citizen, and currently resides in Oslo, Norway.
Trond Christensen, Chief Operating Officer. Prior to becoming COO to the Songa fleet of drilling units, Mr. Christensen worked 26 years in the offshore drilling operations as well as onshore management of drilling rigs and coil tubing drilling. During his 23 year career with Transocean, Mr. Christensen had the opportunity to work in a wide range of countries and areas in various capacities; such as Rig Manager, District and country Manager, as well as HSE auditor for the corporate HSE Department. He also held other positions such as Drilling Supervisor, Drilling Advisor and Engineer within several oil companies.
Ole Petter Landa QHSE Director. Mr. Landa has more than two decades of experience working with the international offshore drilling industry. After working a few years offshore, early in his carrier, he joined the onshore organization in 1986 and from that point of worked with HES&Q issues as he still does. Mr. Landa has former experience from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway, but prior to that he worked in Transocean for 19 years and other drilling contractors such as Dolphin, Global Marine Drilling Co. and the last 3 years as a QHSE Vice President for Ocean Rig. Mr. Landa is a Petroleum Engineer and has joined the main office in Cyprus.
Ian Martin, Corporate Operations Manager. Mr. Martin brings 27 years experience in the Mobile offshore Drilling industry. He started his career in the North Sea before moving onto International assignments and up to the position as Drilling Superintendent. He then took on increased responsibilities in onshore Management roles from Rig Manager in Aberdeen, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Singapore, to Operations Manager in West Africa, Branch Manager in Libya, and currently Corporate Operations Manager in the Songa Cyprus Corporate office. Mr. Martin has extensive experience in New rig construction and Deepwater Drilling Operations. Mr. Martin is a UK citizen and resides in Limassol, Cyprus.
Tim Myers, Marketing and Business Development Manager. During his 13 years in the offshore drilling industry, he has held various roles of increasing responsibility on several ultra-deepwater construction projects, in technical field support, contracts engineering, sales and marketing, rig management and other supervisory positions. Mr. Myers holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and MBA. He is a US citizen and resides in Cyprus.
